COMPUTER TECHNICIAN-Aberdeen, ID

Cable Television Line Installers and Repairers

DEFINITION: String and repair television cable and other equipment for transmitting messages or TV programming. Duties include locating and repairing defects in existing systems; placing, rearranging, and removing underground or aerial cables; installing supports, insulation, or guy wire systems; and other auxiliary tasks necessary to maintain lines and cables.

Compensation: Depends on experience. Will train.

TASKS:

1. Installs terminal boxes and strings lead-in-wires, using electrician's tools.
2. Repairs cable system, defective lines, and auxiliary equipment.
3. Ascends poles or enters tunnels and sewers to string lines and install terminal boxes, auxiliary equipment and appliances, according to diagrams.
4. Pulls lines through ducts by hand or with use of winch.
5. Computes impedance of wire from pole to house to determine additional resistance needed for reducing signal to desired level.
6. Connects television set to cable system, evaluates incoming signal, and adjusts system to ensure optimum reception.
7. Measures signal strength at utility pole, using electronic test equipment.
8. Installs and removes plant equipment, such as callboxes and clocks.
9. Install poles and cable lines using power equipment.
10. Fills and tamps holes, using cement, earth, and tamping device.
11. Cleans and maintains tools and test equipment.
12. Explains cable service to subscriber.


Communications Products Sales Associate - updated 08/01/2007
Direct Communications-Aberdeen, Idaho

Location: Direct Communications Service Store in Aberdeen, Idaho.

Description:
We are currently looking for a part-time sales associate to manage the store for about 16 hours a week. The hours will increase over time if the store proves to be a successful avenue for generating sales in Aberdeen. The pay will be dependent on experience, but this will pay well for a part-time position. Since you already use our products, we encourage our own customers to apply for this position.

You will be well trained by our sales manager, but eventually you will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of all of our products offered in Aberdeen, including cable TV, cable Internet, Direct Vois (our internet phone service), wireless internet, Wildblue Satellite Internet, and of course our latest product, Syringa Wireless cell phone service.

Spanish language skill is a plus. Sales and retail experience is a plus. Good customer service skills, a positive attitude and friendly smile at all times are a must. You should be an avid user of technology. All applications will be considered.

Requirements:

  • Proven sales ability, preferably in the communications or IT industry.
  • Superior communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent follow-through and closing skills
  • Familiarity with communications and internet technology
  • Maintaining a positive, can-do attitude.
  • You must demonstrate the ability to learn, comprehend, and sell high-end technology such as VOIP, Cable Television, and all Internet offerings.

Compensation:
$7-$10 per hour, DOE.

Weekdays 12pm-6PM

Communications Products Sales Associate - updated 08/01/2007

Location: Territory covering Southeast Idaho  (American Falls, Aberdeen, Monpelier, Grace, Bancroft, McCammon, Pingree, Preston etc) with corporate headquarters in Rockland, Idaho.

Description:
The Sales Associate will focus on new business development by selling Direct Communication’s full suite of Voice, Data, Television and Internet products to business and residential customers in your assigned territory of southeast Idaho. 

Requirements:

  • Must have own transportation.
  • Proven sales ability, preferably in the communications or IT industry.
  • Superior communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent follow-through and closing skills
  • Familiarity with communications and internet technology

Direct Communications Star West, located in Rockland,  is accepting applications for a computer technician.  This position involves maintaining and fixing computers, network configurations, and working with students.

Qualifications:  Two years experience required, certifications are a plus.

FIELD INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN

Location: Southeast Idaho, reporting to headquarters in Rockland, ID

Direct Communications, located in Rockland, ID,  is accepting applications for a qualified field installation Technician/geek.  This position involves installing wireless internet antennas, setting up new internet connections, email accounts, troubleshooting customer problems, marketing our wireless and satellite internet products, and computer network support.

Qualifications:  Two plus years including ATM, AFC, TCP/IP, Cisco IOS, Linux/Unix, anti-spam/virus techniques, copyright enforcement, hardware and software (Microsoft and AFC), CCNA, CCNI, Net+, MCSE, and RHCE certifications a plus.
