Direct Digital Voice

linksys SPA 2100 analog phone adapter Linksys SPA 2100 - our standard VOIP to analog phone adapter.

What is Direct Voice?
Digital, or broadband, IP phone service from Direct Communcations, a real telephone company.

How does it work?
We assign you a new 801-789-XXXX number and give you a small analog-to-digital voice adapter (ATA). You plug your existing phone into our VOIP adapter, dial as usual, and we do the rest. We send your phone call digitally, over your high-speed internet connection, back to our main telephone switches in Eagle Mountain, where they are converted to a regular call.

How is it different to regular landline service.
Your call is sent to our switch as digital data, using your broadband service , rather than as an analog call. Because this is a cheaper method, we can offer you unlimited long distance, so your monthly total including long distance will be cheaper than just regular local landline service.

Is it reliable?
Although VOIP is not as reliable as landline telephone service, and only as reliable as your broadband network, if you are on DirectCom broadband, and using our Direct Voice product, you should have an advantage over all other VOIP services. Plus, with unlimited long distance and so many advanced features, like voicemail to email, online call screening and call management, Direct VOICE makes using the phone fun again.

Why should I use Direct VOICE?
Backed by our E (emergency) phone.
More reliable than outside VOIP services.
Loads of Free features
No more long distance bills.

Customers should secure an alternative to 911 service.
A battery back-up is recommended to power your modem and ATA in case of power failure--you are soley responsible for providing power to your phone. Since Direct VOICE relies on your modem and ATA to make a connection, it will not work if these do not have power.
